Toxoplasmosis in pregnancy

Abstract
The recent knowledge on the toxoplasmosis in pregnancy revealed that there are several definite conclusions that can be made at this time, although many problems to be solved exist. The frequency of primary infection during pregnancy probably varies from region to region, but can be readily determined. The outcome of pregnancy complicated by Toxoplasma infection has been well defined. Abortion may result if the infection occurs in the early months. If the infection occurs in the later months of the pregnancy, roughly one half of the exposed fetuses will be congenitally infected at birth.
